Youth Futures currently has two Housing Support Workers who support young people at risk of homelessness to secure and maintain stable accommodation. They also assist clients to:

  • Establish a home, including the purchasing of basic furniture and other household items
  • Resolve financial issues, including assistance in accessing employment and income entitlements
  • Establish or re-establish social and community support networks, and
  • Link in with mainstream and community services, including assistance with accessing education, training, medical care and recreational activities

Our Housing Support Worker (Corrective Services) specifically supports young people aged 16-18 who are exiting juvenile detention or are on a community based order. A referral to this program must be made through the individual’s Youth Justice Officer.

Meanwhile our Housing Support Worker (North Metro) supports individuals, couples and families aged 16 to 25 years who are exiting specialist homelessness accommodation services in Perth’s metropolitan area. Referrals can be made by NAHA accommodation workers by contacting Youth Futures on 9300 2677.
